Claude AI Brings Microsoft 365 Access to All Users, Including Free Plan

Anthropic has expanded its Microsoft 365 connector to all Claude users, including those on free accounts. The feature was previously only available to Team and Enterprise plan subscribers.

With this update, anyone with a Claude account can now connect their Microsoft 365 work tools directly to Claude. This includes Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Once connected, Claude can read emails, find documents, and pull information from your workplace files without you needing to upload anything manually.

The connector works in real time. Users can ask Claude things like "summarize my latest email thread" or "find the project brief in SharePoint" and Claude will pull the answer directly from their Microsoft 365 account. It works across web, iOS, and Android.

Setting it up takes only a few minutes. Users need to go to Customize then Connectors inside Claude and sign in with their work Microsoft account. Personal Microsoft accounts like Outlook.com or Hotmail are not supported, only business accounts tied to a Microsoft Entra ID tenant.

On the security side, Claude can only read data and cannot send emails, edit files, or post in Teams. It respects the same access permissions the user already has in Microsoft 365. All activity is logged in the Microsoft 365 audit system.

This move is part of Anthropic's broader push to make Claude more useful as a workplace tool, bringing it closer to how people actually work every day.
