OpenAI Gives ChatGPT Users Bank Reset for Every Day Without Astra

OpenAI is slowly rolling out its newest AI model GPT-6 Astra instead of giving everyone access at the same time. To make the wait more worthwhile, OpenAI is giving paid ChatGPT users extra usage when they are waiting for access.

Thibault Sottiaux, who leads ChatGPT and Codex products at OpenAI, said that every paid user who is still waiting for Astra will get one saved reset for each day they have to wait. A reset refreshes their usage limit. Once Astra becomes available, users can use these saved resets from their account usage settings.

OpenAI says GPT-6 Astra is its most advanced AI model yet. It is designed to handle difficult, longer tasks on a computer. For example, it can browse the web, write code, do research, and work with software.

The rollout is taking longer because Astra has reached a high security risk level. This means the model may be able to find and use weaknesses in software if it is misused. Because of this, OpenAI is adding extra safety checks before giving everyone access.

Astra will eventually be available to all paid ChatGPT plans, including Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, without an extra subscription fee. Some higher-priced plans will get additional features.

For Enterprise users, an admin will need to turn Astra on before employees can use it.

People who sign up for a paid plan now can also qualify for the daily saved resets while they wait for access.
