Claude Code Weekly Limits Set to Shrink Next Month

Anthropic is changing how much Claude Code, its coding tool, can be used each week. The company said it will permanently raise the standard weekly limit by 25% for people on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans. But there's a catch.

Right now, users are enjoying a temporary boost of 50% above the normal limit. Once that temporary boost ends and the new 25% permanent increase takes over, actual usage will drop by about 17% compared to what people have been using recently.

Anthropic explained this openly, saying it is working on ways to give users more visibility and control over their usage going forward, though no timeline was shared for that.

This change is being widely seen as a cut rather than a raise, since most users will have less weekly usage than before once the new limit kicks in.

The change only affects the weekly usage cap. It does not affect the separate 5-hour session limit. It also does not apply to the Free plan, since Claude Code isn't available there.

Users who go over their limit can wait for it to reset, upgrade their plan, or pay extra through usage credits.
