Cline

Cline is an open-source AI coding agent that works inside VS Code, JetBrains, or the terminal. It reads your codebase, understands how files connect, and helps you write, edit, and fix code using plain language instructions. Instead of just suggesting code, Cline can run terminal commands, use a browser to test web pages, and make changes across many files at once. It has two modes: Plan mode explores your project and creates a strategy, while Act mode carries out the work step by step. You stay in control since Cline asks for approval before making changes, though you can also turn on auto-approve for faster work. It supports many AI models, so you are never locked into one provider.
