Gemini Spark Can Now Browse Chrome and Finish Tasks for You

Google has added a new feature to its AI assistant Gemini Spark that lets it work directly inside your Chrome browser. This means Spark can now handle everyday online tasks for you, like booking things or filling out forms, using your own logged-in accounts.

With your permission, Spark can now complete web tasks right inside your Chrome browser through its integration with Google Chrome's auto browse feature. It can handle tasks such as scheduling apartment viewings or filling in flight details for a booking.

More details were shared in a Google blog post, which explained that Spark can now use your local Chrome browser instead of relying only on a remote one. This allows it to use your saved logins and passwords to finish multi-step tasks that usually take time, like researching flights or booking apartment tours from saved listings.

To keep things safe, Google says Spark is built with protection against harmful prompts and will always hand control back to you before doing anything sensitive, like making a payment. Once you allow access, a small Gemini and auto browse icon will appear at the top of your Chrome browser so you know it is active.

This Chrome feature is currently rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States, with more countries expected to get access soon. Alongside this, Google is also expanding regular Gemini Spark access to Pro subscribers in more than 160 additional countries.

Gemini Spark was first introduced as Google's always on personal AI agent that can keep working in the background even when your device is off. It already connects with apps like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and other tools, and this new Chrome integration adds one more way for it to help with real world online tasks.
