Granola Launches Apple Watch App for Instant Meeting Notes

Granola has launched an Apple Watch app that lets users record conversations and turn them into organized notes without needing a bot or a nearby phone.

Granola's Apple Watch app launch quickly gained attention across social media and tech news sites.

With the new Watch app, users can start recording with a single tap. The watch screen turns green and plays a sound to confirm recording has started. Tapping again stops it. There is also a shortcut on the watch face for quick access, plus a small vibration reminder before scheduled meetings begin.

The Watch app works well for conversations away from a computer, like walking meetings, quick chats, or in-person discussions. If there is no internet connection, the recording is saved and automatically sent to the paired iPhone once reconnected. From there, Granola turns the audio into notes with key points and action items, just like it does on desktop and mobile.

To use the feature, people need the latest Granola iOS app and an Apple Watch running watchOS 11 or higher. Setup happens through the iPhone app.

Along with the launch, Granola also revealed a limited batch of only 100 handwoven Apple Watch straps, made with a London-based weaver. These are being given to select users and supporters of the app.

Granola has said this update is about using hardware people already own, rather than pushing them to buy something new.
