Screenity

Screenity is a Chrome browser extension that records your screen and adds helpful tools for creating better videos. You can record any tab, a specific area, your desktop, applications, or your camera with your microphone or system audio.

What makes Screenity special is its annotation features. While recording, you can draw, add text, arrows, and shapes directly on your screen. It also highlights your clicks and cursor, which is helpful for tutorials. After recording, you can edit videos with trim, crop, and audio tools.

The extension is open source, meaning anyone can view and modify its code. All recordings stay on your computer unless you choose to save them elsewhere, keeping your content completely private.

Using Screenity is simple and quick. Follow these steps to start recording:

• Install the Screenity extension from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar for easy access.

• Click the Screenity icon and choose what you want to record: a tab, desktop, specific window, or camera.

• Select your audio settings: microphone, system audio, or both. You can also enable push-to-talk for better control.

• Before recording, customize settings like countdown timer, click highlights, cursor focus, or blur sensitive content.

• Start recording and use the floating toolbar to annotate with drawing tools, text, arrows, or shapes while you record.

• Click stop when finished. Your video opens in the editor where you can trim, crop, remove or add audio, and adjust quality.

• Export your recording as MP4, GIF, or WebM format. You can also save directly to Google Drive for sharing.
